BID FOR REHAB CONKLIN AVE AND BELDEN ST BRIDGES OVER PIERCE CREEK

ADVERTISEMENT  FOR BIDS

Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Contract and Supply, City of Binghamton, City Hall, Binghamton, New York, until 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 after which time and at which place they will be publicly opened and read a l o ud at the 11:00 A.M. Board of Contract and Supply meeting, for the following work:

Rehabilitation of Conklin Avenue Bridge over Pierce Creek (BIN 2003610) and

Belden Street Bridge over Pierce Creek (BIN 2226260) – PIN 9754.02

This project consists of the rehabilitation of the existing Conklin Ave. bridge over Peirce creek (BIN 2003610) and Belden Street bridge over Pierce creek (BIN 2226260). This work will include replacement of the existing concrete beams with galvanized steel beams, and new precast and cast in place concrete deck slabs. Repairs will also be made to the existing concrete abutments and the existing bridge railing will be replaced with a four bridge rail system. Minor approach roadway work will be performed on both bridges. For the Conklin Ave. bridge over Peirce Creek (BIN 2003610) the rehabilitation will result in a temporary full closure of the bridge, while the rehabilitation of Belden street bridge over Peirce Creek (BIN 2226260) will utilize stage construction.

The contract documents and plans may be examined at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, Binghamton, New York, and copies may be obtained upon a n o n - r e f u n d a b l e  p a ym e n t   o f  $50.00  (check  or  money  order,  payable  to  the  City  of Binghamton), per set.  The non-refundable payment will be waived if a set of contract documents were previously purchased.

The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) utilization goal for the project is 8%

No proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a notarized bid guaranty which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid for the total work contemplated to be done. At the option of the bidder, the guaranty may be a certified check, bank draft, negotiable US Government bonds (at par value), or a bid bond approved by the Corporation Counsel. Certified check or bank draft must be payable to the order of the City of Binghamton. Cash deposits will not be accepted. The bid guaranty shall insure the execution of the agreement and the furnishing of the surety bond or bonds by the successful bidder, all as required by the contract documents.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to award the contract in the best interests of the City of Binghamton, New York.
