(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) — The City of Binghamton has extended its alternate side parking rules until Friday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m. to facilitate plows widening streets impacted by last week's snowstorm. The rules were originally scheduled to be lifted on Friday, March 17.
Cars parked on both sides of plowed City streets hamper street widening operations from large plows and trucks. With the anticipation of future snowfall, there is a continued focus to widen streets as much as possible.
In addition, all motorists are strongly encouraged to move vehicles off streets and into driveways or parking lots at City parks to allow snow plows to widen streets. Residents are also asked to assist the City in clearing snow around fire hydrants in their neighborhoods.
