Mayor: Ticketing and Towing of Illegally Parked Vehicles Continues

(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) — Mayor Richard C. David on Tuesday reiterated the City of Binghamton is continuing to ticket and tow vehicles in violation of the City’s winter parking rules and impeding snow cleanup operations.

Monday and early morning Tuesday, the Binghamton Police Department wrote 107 parking tickets and ordered the towing of four vehicles.

“Writing tickets and towing cars are not actions we want to take, but unfortunately it’s the last resort as many vehicles are still blocking snow removal and cleanup operations,” said Mayor David. “We’ve provided more than enough time and are well past any grace period for digging out cars. Residents must take responsibility for their vehicles, find off-street parking where possible and follow the City’s alternate side winter parking rules. Move them or they will be towed.”

Residents who see illegally-parked vehicles on their street should contact the Binghamton Police at (607) 723-5321.

All vehicles parked on street should follow the City’s winter alternate side parking rules, which are in effect from Dec. 1 to March 15, 2021. The rules are available on the City’s website:
