Two City Streets Closed Indefinitely, Monday Yard Waste Collection Suspended

(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) — Mayor Richard C. David on Thursday announced that two City of Binghamton streets are closed indefinitely due to significant flash flooding damage:

  • Fairview Avenue (Clapham Street to Popes Ravine Road)
  • Hiner Road (full extent)

The roads are located in both the City of Binghamton and Town of Kirkwood. In Binghamton, the roads border the City line on the upper East Side. An alternate route has been created for Hiner Road residents to Bevier Street.

On Monday, August 20, the City of Binghamton’s normal yard waste pickup will be suspended so Department of Public Works crews can focus on flood-related cleanup.
