If you have a complaint or concern regarding a dog-related incident, please contact our Dog Control Officer. If you are directed to the Dog Control Officer's voicemail, please leave a detailed message, including your contact information. Voicemails are regularly monitored. You may also fill out the Request a Service form and select Animal Control as the category. If your complaint or concern is regarding a dog incident not located within the City of Binghamton, please contact the Dog Control Office or Police Department in your municipality.

Dog Licensing Requirements

If you own a dog that is more than four months of age and is not licensed, please visit the Office of the City Clerk, or click on the link below to obtain a Dog License. A licensed dog is easier for our Dog Control Officer to identify and return to its owner. You will need to bring photo identification, proof of rabies vaccination, and proof from your veterinarian that your dog is spayed or neutered, if applicable. Please familiarize yourself with the City's dog regulations and abide by them. All dogs are required to be leashed when not on the owner's property. All dogs are to be licensed after four months of age. All dog handlers are required to clean up after their animal. Stray and unlicensed dogs may be seized, and fines may be assessed before the dog may be released.
