City of Binghamton New York
Home MenuHydrant Flushing & Testing
Twice a year, The City of Binghamton conducts hydrant flushing, once in the Spring and once in the Fall, to ensure that the City’s water lines are fully functional for the purposes of private use, fire protection and other services.
Starting September 23, 2024—Until completion, we will be conducting Citywide hydrant flushing and testing from Monday–Thursday from 7:00am–6:30pm.
The map below highlights the districts scheduled for hydrant flushing. Zoom in on the map and click on your parcel to see when hydrants will be flushed in your neighborhood. During flushing events, this map will be updated daily.
Water discoloration may be evident at various times during these periods, and you may experience low pressure. Nonetheless, the water will remain safe for use.
NOTE: Please check your cold water supply before using any water in your home. For a short period of time, it may be necessary to run your cold water only to clear your service line of air and fine particles.
